Terms and conditions
Last updated 14 October 2026
These terms and conditions apply when you use Yknot Teach Me at teachme.y-knot.io (the "Website"), create an account, or buy a Course. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of terms
1.1By accessing and using the Website you agree to these terms and conditions without modification, limitation or qualification (the "terms and conditions").
2. About us
2.1"We", "us" and "Yknot" mean Yknot Blockchain Solutions (Pty) Ltd, trading as Yknot, a private company incorporated in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa with registration number 2021/791610/07.
2.2Our physical address is 21 Viceroy Link Road, Route 21 Business Park, Irene, 0178. Our postal address is PO Box 178, Cornwall Hill, Gauteng, 0178, South Africa.
2.3Our contact email address is info@y-knot.io.
2.4Our VAT number is 4760306417.
2.5We are the owner and intellectual property rights holder of the Website and of the Courses offered on it.
2.6You represent and warrant that you have the legal right and ability to use the Website and to be bound by these terms and conditions. You promise us that you are old enough to enter into legally binding contracts, or that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms and conditions on your behalf, and you accept that you are responsible for everything done using your account.
3. These terms, associated documents and changes
3.1These terms and conditions override any contrary terms or conditions published by us or appearing on the Website in relation to a Course you buy from us.
3.2Our privacy policy and our cancellation and refund policy are incorporated into these terms and conditions and form an integral part of them.
3.3We may amend these terms and conditions and our policies from time to time. When we do, we will publish the updated version on the Website and change the date at the top of the page.
3.4Amendments do not have retrospective effect. A Course you have already bought remains governed by the terms and conditions that applied when you bought it, unless a later change is in your favour.
4. Our Courses
4.1A Course is an online programme of Lessons. Depending on the Course, its Lessons are videos, written articles, or a mix of both, and it may include Knowledge Checks, activities that ask you to explain or apply what you have learnt, an AI tutor and a Lesson test. Each Course's page in the Catalogue describes what that Course includes.
4.2When you complete a Course you can obtain a Certificate of Completion. A Certificate records that you completed the Course on the Website. Unless a Course page says otherwise, our Courses are not accredited by the South African Qualifications Authority, a Sector Education and Training Authority or any other accrediting body, and a Certificate is not a formal qualification.
4.3The AI tutor is generated by artificial intelligence. It answers from the Course material and from general knowledge, and it can make mistakes. Nothing in a Course or from the AI tutor is professional, medical, financial or legal advice, and you should consult a suitably qualified professional before acting on anything that affects your health, finances or legal position.
4.4We may update the content of a Course to keep it accurate and useful. We will not remove a Course you have bought from your account because we stop selling it.
5. Your account
5.1You sign in with a link we email to you or with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account or Google account secure, and for all activity on your Yknot account.
5.2An account is for one person. You may not share your account, or the Courses on it, with anybody else.
6. Prices and payment
6.1Prices are shown in South African rand and include VAT.
6.2Payment is made through Payfast, a third-party payment provider, by card, Instant EFT or any other method Payfast offers you. You pay on Payfast's secure pages, and your card or bank details are never shared with us.
6.3A Purchase is complete when Payfast confirms the payment to us. Until then, no Course access is granted.
6.4We may offer a Course free of charge or at a discount through a Coupon. A Coupon is subject to the conditions stated with it and has no cash value.
7. Access to a Course
7.1Your access to a Course you have bought begins as soon as Payfast confirms your payment, and does not expire.
7.2If we stop offering a Course to new buyers, you keep access to it if you have already bought it.
7.3Your access is personal to you and is for your own learning. It may not be sold, transferred or shared.
7.4Where your employer or another organisation gave you access to a Course, your access depends on that organisation's arrangement with us and may end when that arrangement ends.
7.5We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms and conditions.
8. Cancellation and refunds
8.1You may cancel a Course purchase and receive a refund as set out in our cancellation and refund policy. Nothing in these terms and conditions limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
9. Website availability
9.1While we use all reasonable endeavours to make the Website and its services available, we cannot guarantee that they will operate continuously or without interruption.
10. Conditions of access and use
10.1Your access to and use of the Website is at your own risk.
10.2We make no representation, warranty or covenant about the reliability, stability or virus-free nature of the Website or the material on it. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Website and its content are provided "as is" without any representation, warranty or covenant of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
10.3To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any direct, special, indirect, incidental, consequential (including loss of revenue or profits), punitive or exemplary damages of any kind, whether based on breach of contract, delict, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, arising out of:
- any transaction concluded between us under these terms and conditions;
- access to, use of, or delay or inability to access or use the Website or any information on it;
- errors in any pricing or information on the Website; or
- the availability and utility of the payment mechanism and any information in it.
10.4Nothing in this section excludes any liability that may not be excluded by applicable law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
11. Acceptable use
11.1You agree not to post or transmit through the Website, including to the AI tutor, any material that is obscene, misleading, defamatory, illegal, in breach of any copyright or other intellectual property right, or damaging to data, software or the performance of any computer system.
11.2You agree not to abuse the Website. "Abuse" includes, without limitation, using the Website to:
- defame, harass, threaten or otherwise violate the rights of others;
- harm or interfere with the operation of the Website or anyone's computers or software, including by transmitting corrupt files or computer viruses;
- interfere with or disrupt the Website or the servers or networks connected to it, including by overloading, flooding or attempting a denial-of-service attack;
- direct bots, crawlers, scrapers or any other automated process at the Website, or download, record or copy Course material other than as the Website allows;
- copy, redistribute, publish, sell or create works derived from any Course material;
- share your account, or misrepresent your identity or your authority to act on behalf of another; or
- violate these terms and conditions in any other manner.
12. Intellectual property
12.1All intellectual property rights in the Website and in the Courses, including copyright in any video, written material, questions and design, belong to us or to our licensors.
12.2When you buy a Course, or are given access to one, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view and use it for your own learning. You may print or save material only where the Website offers you a way to do so, and only for your own use.
12.3What you write in a Course, including your answers and your conversations with the AI tutor, remains yours. You give us permission to store and use it to provide the Course to you and, as described in our privacy policy, to improve our Courses.
13. Indemnity
13.1To the extent permitted by applicable law, you indemnify us against all liabilities, losses and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of claims resulting from your breach of these terms and conditions, including any claim by a third party.
14. Complaints
14.1If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the Website or a Course, please contact us at info@y-knot.io. We will acknowledge your complaint and try to resolve it with you.
15. Choice of law and jurisdiction
15.1Your use of the Website and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Pretoria.
